DeForest is about 13 miles north of Madison, roughly 20 minutes, with no travel surcharge. Growth here has been steady since the mid-1990s, which means engineered siding and vinyl in sound condition across most of the village, with an older core near Main Street where pre-1978 homes need lead-safe handling and real scrape assessment.
DeForest has grown at a manageable pace, which from a painting standpoint is a good thing: the subdivisions did not all go up in the same eighteen months, so they are not all failing in the same eighteen months either. Most exterior work here is a wash and two coats on sound engineered siding.
The older homes near the original village center are a different job. Wood siding, real trim, and enough age that lead-safe containment applies. We handle both and we price them differently because they are different.
DeForest and neighboring Windsor share a school district and a housing pattern. We serve both on identical terms with no travel difference.

On sound engineered siding with a premium acrylic, twelve to fifteen years. On older painted wood near the village core, seven to ten on the sheltered elevations and five to seven on the south and west sides that take the ultraviolet and freeze-thaw load.
Wisconsin gives roughly a 20-week exterior window from mid-May to early October, and May and September fill up first. If you want September, ask in March. Interior work is available year-round and easiest to schedule in the winter.
